Default Aux question..

Could i buy this:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-txt6XeQ...mp;I=130CDRB10

then get this:

http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=164

cut off the end of the wire (one that would go into the ipod) then splice it into the aux input box wires?

edit: or what if i just got this: http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=762

and cut off that end?

Or you could look here before hacking into a bunch of wires.

Well you're still looking at around $50ish for those cables you plan to hack up. The AuxMod basic is about $60 shipped so I'd go with that if you just want a simple input.

Why is the AuxMod not an option for you? I've been using one for nearly two years without a problem...... and I'm also using a Zen vision: M.

Hmmm, well coming into a mazda forum and asking what you can do to get sound into the stereo you may have gotten the answer you were looking for sooner had you told us you were replacing the stereo.

Why not go with a stereo that comes with ipod integration if you're replacing it anyway? Check HERE for examples.

2 reasons..

1. i dont have an ipod.. i have a creative zen.
2. i already have the head unit.

i just wanted to see if the 2 wires that go into my aux input (in the center console) could be spliced with the adapter cable.
