Hi all,

New member here, so today i got this error U0101 and now my 2016 Mazda 3 won't start, i get the flashing dash lights but motors won't turn. Any ideas?

If i have to get a new PCM how easy is it to install?

Thanks in advance.

What diagnosis have you carried out for your U0101 DTC?
Have you tried starting the car by pressing the remote against the start button?
Have you tried your spare remote?
Is your remote battery over 3v?
What is the State of charge for your car battery (SOC)?
Is your car Auto or Manual?
Do the brake lights work?

If it is proven thru detailed diagnosis that you need a TCM, it will require programming to your specific vehicle.

When the power went down i went to my local shop that i always go to. He plugged the scanner and got the error.

He also used the key trick by touching the button and hooking a charger to the battery. But i don't think he checked the brake light. I towed the car to Browning Mazda on 4/30 and they can't figure out what's wrong.

They told me they contracted Mazda support for help.

The battery is fully charge and the car is auto.

TCM in our car is integrated with PCM just learned this, and the price is all over the place from 600 online to 900 dealer.

As per the workshop manual, On the 6 speed auto's ( CW6A-EL ) & ( EW6A-EL ) & ( FW6A-EL ) & ( GW6A-EL ), the TCM is integrated into the Valve body within the transmission.

Never seen a CVT in a 2016 Mazda 3.

Solution: Re-flash and Re-learn main engine computer and replace main fuse to engine.
