Hey guys, I recently just bought a 2012 Mazda 3 S touring with 2.5L engine and want to turbo my little hatch to make it better than the speed 3. Any ideas? I am trying to find out exactly what I have to do to accomplish this.

 

It's a pretty good bet that if you manage to even approach the performance of a MazdaSpeed3 you will have to spend considerably more than if you'd just bought the Speed3 in the first place. That and the reliability and resale value of your car will plumet like a rock if you start making the changes you're talking about.

IMHO, you'd be doing yourself a huge financial favor to simply sell your car and buy a MazdaSpeed3.

Just go buy a speed and build from there. Then it would at least be better than a stock speed.
There is not a lot of support for the 3s as far as turbo goes.
And even less for the 2.5 IIRC.
A few months ago there was an active thread over on M3R about a guy wanting to do a turbo, then he realized the actual effort in even attempting to boost and so it pretty much died. Like the other 'i want to turbo my 3' threads.
Most of those guys either bailed on the idea or just got a MS3 or other turbo'd car and built from there.
