Default 2011 mazda 3 - 0w 20 oil?

The local lube and rotate express wants to charge me $75 for an oil change with 0w 20. (what the cap calls for)

I can't seem to find 0w 20 locally on the shelf to do it my self.

Can I put 5w 20 in it? Or would that be bad? I understand its heavier and thicker so proper warm up would be essential (especially in the winter).

I'm not very proficient when it comes to vehicles so I figured I'd come here and ask you guys.

Thanks in advance,
Gr4

If your car is still under powertrain warranty putting in anything else other than 0W20 may void the warranty. You need proof of oil changes.
Personally, putting in 5W20 synthetic oil would be fine.

I use full synthetic in my 02. Reason was my daughter used it for school, and I knew the servicing wasn't going to be reular.
Other than USA oil viscosity, I've never even heard of 0 weight.

No to semi-synthetic 5W20.
Walmart sells 0w20 oil: 0w20 - Walmart.com
You must have a Walmart in your area! Above search is in USA.

My local walmart doesn't have it, I've looked just about everywhere around here, though it's been a while since I looked so things may have changed. I'll have to stop in and check it out again.
