Default 2010 Mazda3 GT headlight issue

I apologize ahead of time for the long post...QUESTION AT THE END!

So I have had 7 Mazda3s at this point. Different years, some I've had for a very short period of time and some I've kept for a couple years.

I just bought a 2010 GT 6spd manual with every option except NAV. This means I have the adaptive lighting where the lights shift while turning. It's the 2nd time I've had these and I love them, but the 1st time I've had this issue.

There is a massive amount of condensation inside the headlight itself and has now blown the low and high beam. I'm told by the service department that the whole assembly needs to be replaced at a cost of $1,000! Then, I may also have to buy a ballast (whatever that is) for about $375 more. This is a hideous amount of money to have to pay out because for some reason Mazda can't figure out how to seal a headlight.

I would think this is an isolated issue if I hadn't seen multiple posts on the internet about this being a common issue and my last 2010 Mazda3i had condensation in that light too. Luckily it wasn't bad enough to ruin the bulbs.

After all that, my question is whether I can replace the xenon adaptive lights with regular xenon aftermarket headlights? I could do this for roughly $350-$450 FOR BOTH headlights and while I would lose the adaptive part, at least I could gain halo/LED style lights.

My ultimate fear isnthat I drop $1,500 on fixing the adaptive light and the other one goes bad. Any insight into this would be appreciated..
