2008.5 MS3 engine issues

All,
Has anyone heard about rod bearing failures or detonation in new MS3 engine without any upgrades? Need to gather as much info as possible. Thx

yup its pretty common (not real common like a vw having electrical problems) for any ones older than the 09 models, the "08.5's" fixed the random cel issue but not the pencil rods.

I've had my 08 MS3 GT for about a year and a half with about 9,000 miles on it with no engine issues.
