Default 2007 Mazda 3 Radio Antenna

I found out today that my antenna has fallen off my car. i would not think that someone might of intentionally unscrew it off my car for their use? does anybody else have this sort of problem? like commuters, when i drive my car on the freeway, the antenna is just moving like crazy. i only had this car for about a littl under 2 months, is this covered by warranty? please let me know thanks

I think the most likely explanation is that someone walked past your car and unscrewed it just to be a dick. It's unfortunate but it still happens. I don't think your warranty will cover it since it's most likely that it didn't fall off due to a defect in the antenna itself.

There are many options for replacing it from the OEM Mz3 one, an OEM Cx-7 one (smaller), a stubby (smaller with worse reception), or a sharkfin.

What he ^ ^ ^ Said...
Get a stubby. They look so much better than the stock antenna anyway.
If you have a sedan, the sharkfin's look good too, if you want to spend $70 on one. I think they look better on the sedans, though.

i called my the service department (the place where i got my car). the guy was nice enough and said he'll take care of it. so i am very thankful for that. what is the difference between the antennas? i personally think the stock antennas suck because they don't get too much reception. yes i own a 07 mazda 3 sedan 2.3L. thanks for the info guys i appreciate your help!

i called another mazda dealeship place for the stock antenna, the guy said it cost $41 bucks.

people out there are just weird, stealing other people's antenna. hey what goes around comes around.

anyway pls fill me out with the antenna info thanks!

I have a 4" stubby that cost me around $12 shipped to my door. I don't use the radio much @ all, butwhen I have, haven't noticed a significant loss of signal. It's made of black anodized aluminum and so far, so good. Here's an icy close up of it.

A Sharkfin is a shaped, amplified antenna that installs over the original baseand connects to it, but is adhered to the roof. They are painted to match the color of your car and generally look like this. I believe it was BMW that made this type popular in the US.

And here is where you might acquire one if you wish to.

thanks everyone! i appreciate this. i've seen alot of shark fin antennas on the bmws and the lexus. looks quite good. out of all the pics you guys posted the shark fin ones fit my taste, but it looks like i will be getting a stock replacement at no cost since the manager is really cool.

i know this is out of the topic, but i live in a really hot area and i want to get my windows tinted, do yu guys happen to know which brand is the most decent one quality wise? apparently i live in california and the laws states that the front side mirrors has to be at least 70% visisble, but i am stll planning to get the 50% visible ones. and at what price would be good? pls let me know thanks guys!
