Default 09 Mazda 3 exhaust

I'm looking into getting an exhaust for my 09 Mazda 3. My budget is about 100-300 bucks. Where would be a good place to start looking and what is a good brand or model to look at?

What are your goals for this exhaust; noise?

Mostly yes. If I could get one that will give me a few hp that would be nice.

Noise, yes; horsepower, maybe one or two at redline at wide open throttle. If noise is your main goal, then perform a search on this site, there are a number of discussions on the subject.

Would it be worth putting an entire exhaust system? Or should I just put a muffler and save the trouble with the cost of the few hp I'll get? The thing is I feel like I'll be half assing it if I don't get the whole thing.

Unless you're going to turbocharge your engine then an entire exhaust system is a waste of money.

Duke,
With a budget of only $300 you would not be able to get a cat-back.

For that money, look into replacing the muffler w/a sportier one. It will take a professional w/welding equipment to do it, but the results will be much better than just hanging a cheap fart can off the back.
