I always love when I see a post over a year old having to do with a service related question being revised with suggestion for a solution??

Or IMHO a sly way to promote a business?

if the cel dont come on and the car drives fine i wouldnt waste money. A module wouldnt need to be programmed in order for it to give data, but again i wouldnt even worry about it.

But see this is not the best advise. The engine check light does not always activate unless the ECU confirms an ongoing issue.
I suggest as an example is learning the cause of a DTC like p0300. There are many more like this but I think when you read the causes you will understand a little more about engine check light, DTC(s) and why at time the engine check light may not be active with an unresolved ECU monitor problem.
I should also mention that at times a ECU pass-through or what most call computer "FLASHING" while not technically stated as a must do service procedure when changing some parts, many issues still remaining in the ECU can be wiped clean and the ECU will start with a fresh programing. This also service at times to target some issues that tend to be illusive based on multiple DTC with more than one being none specific or like the example p0300.
