Default 04 Mazda3...engine code trick?

Hey all,

My girlfriends 2004 Mazda 3 runs great but has a CEL. Is there a terminal I can short with a paperclip and watch for blinks to get a code? Tried searching, and all I found was that most code readers don't even work, yikes!

thanks

The ActronOBD II Scanner/Code Reader does work on Mazda's. This is the one we use at work, and I have used it personally on my vehicle. Same damn code every time too....P2187.

Go to an advance auto parts or other similar store. They have code readers that work and they'll read your code for free.... much better than trying to short something out imo.
