Weird intermittent fault possibly ECU
Hi all, this is a weird one. I own a 2019 Mazda 2 1.5 sport. 12 months ago I could barely accelerate on 3 occasions at 50 mph, the fault cleared after a few minutes each time and my mechanic was unable to get any error codes on the reader. Fast forward to today and the same thing happened but was more pronounced at lower speed and bizarrely when I braked it veered hard left and then later to the right additionally the tyre pressure warning light came on. On arriving home I’ve checked all tyre pressures, looked underneath at all the wheels, brakes discs, suspension and nothing out of the ordinary to be seen. Took car out an hour later as had a hunch intermittent and of course everything was fine, acceleration, brakes, full lock and no veering. I can only think there is something wrong in ECU. I have owned dozens of cars and had probably every fault going over the years but this has foxed me. Any ideas/suggestions please? I’ve booked it for another diagnostic on Saturday. Thank you all very much in anticipation 🙂🤞
Your ECU is not being scanned completely.
If in the USA
Whom ever you get to scan it make sure they are a certified at least since 2015 Automotive Diagnostic Technician or a Mazda factory trained mechanic.
Just because a person own a professional quality Scanner does not mean they know how and where to look in an ECU or other systems.
Your problem should have had more information the first time it was scanned.
Nothing thus far you posted indicates a failing ECU.

to directly connect it to the OBDII diagnostic connector.
Scan for:
Current or active DTC(s) These are the ones that activate the check engine light
Look in the permanent file and see what DTC(s) there are. These are the unresolved one that continue to cycle until they are corrected
Scan and see what the I/M monitors status is. These show what emission system are effect by any current DTC(s)
