Default summer health check

i have a 61 plate, low mileage, I don't travel far and check the oil, tired etc regularly myself. manly use the car for work, local , shopping, local and visiting friends, again local or Cardiff/Newport 60 odd mls round trip. Id say on average I do approx. 400 mls month or less.i have been offered a Summer health check but is it worth it considering I do the checks myself - air con and breaks but hardly use air con and breaks seem fine. also if any work does need doing will they let you know before doing it?

Welcome to the forum

You would need to post the complete offer for member to read to give you advise on the service offered. These so called "Health Checks" vary from service shop to service shop.

IMHO they should be tailor made for the exact platform year, model and miles, at least that what we do in our shop.

this is just a general enquiry. I haven't my dealer yet. all I know is that the checks are oils, fluid, tired, break pads, wiper blades. the main issue is that I can't afford a big expense at the moment

I agree with Callisto, these checks are usually just a quick once-over of fluids, tyres, brakes, wipers, etc., which you already do. The only extra benefit is they can stick it on a lift and spot leaks or wear you might miss.

I’ve got a trip to Vietnam coming up through https://gowithguide.com/vietnam, and part of it is a road trip with a rental car, so I know how important it is to have the car checked first, especially somewhere unfamiliar. Might be worth it just for peace of mind before any longer drives.

Vietnam. I wish you all the best driving around there. If you haven't been there before the city traffic is kaos.
Regarding the post many of these checks just look for (IMO unnecessary) work so I suggest you get the details on just what they check.

The Philippines is equally as bad!!!
