Despite car being serviced at 32k miles by Mazda dealer and at 34k miles by non Mazda dealer (year apart) the service light (spanner) came on at 40k miles.
Suggestions about cause or how to fully reset would be appreciated.
Let’s assume the non Mazda dealer may or may not have done a service reset and Mazda dealer did.
Oil levels were correct but service light came on.
Despite all of the above the information console still showed oil change due in 6k miles (this is a secondary issue, as car has not got to 12.5k miles since either of last 2 services).
This 6k warning is consistent with the non Mazda service company having reset the service schedule.
I do not know when I might have access to this car again, with ForScan and would prefer to advise driver what to do.
Any suggestions on how to do a lasting full reset (with or without ForScan) or suggestions to find and eliminate cause of service light would be appreciated.
If I do manage to do a long term reset, I am happy to remember
a service is due in approx 6k miles
Diesel right? the water/fuel separator must be drained once a year (12500 miles) and replace filter every third year (37500 miles) Owners Manual
Now to reset spanner light it needs an advanced OBD scanner or IDS (dealer). I don't think Forscan can reset it but you can post a question in their forum.
