Default MPG readout not working properly

Hi all,
new to the forum.
I have a Mazda 2 sport nav Skyactiv 2015.
I took my car to halfords to get a full service, and it wasnt until a few days later that i realised the fuel usage readout - MPG - was jumping around all over the place, random values.
Im guessing when they were changing the fuel filter they dislodged or damaged a sensor. it was working perfectly

does anyone have any idea what sensor it is?
thanks all

Most likely you are view live fuel economy rather than the long term average. You can scroll through various displays.

Just wondering how you came up with your calculations?

I do a hard old school write in a book and compare to my onboard MPG average and seldom is it the same and even at times very different. But then I fill my tank when it is at the 3/4 full mark so that effects real calculation with computer calculation and displaying.
