Default Mazda 2 driver's door lock bounces back.

Hi,
I just got a 2013 Mazda 2. The Fob unlocks the doors. I can manually lock other doors, but the drivers door lock is doing something odd:
1. when I'm inside and trying to manually lock it, I can turn it to the lock position but the lock immediately springs back to the unlock position.
2. When I try to lock it while the door is open, the lock is completely stuck on unlock and doesn't move to lock position

It seems that because this door isn't remaining in the lock position, then no doors are actually locking on central lock. In the end, even if I locked all the other doors, the driver's seat is always unlocked.

Any ideas what might be going on? Is this some kind of safety thing?

Thanks!

Default

Most likely the drivers door lock actuator/assembly has failed.
