Mazda 2 DJ 2014-2019 Gearbox
Hi,
I own a Mazda 2 DJ/DL from 2015 with 1.5l 115HP and a 6MT, gasoline with i-Eloop.
I am wondering if someone has any experience on doing a gearbox swap in pre-lift Mazda 2 DJ/DL?
I am having issues with my current gearbox and have already worked on that with my dealer, but there is no easy way to solve it. The cost of exchanging the gearbox into a new one bought from a manufacturing site is way above rationality.
What I am thinking about is performing a swap with a gearbox from a used car dismantled for parts with relatively low mileage.
The issue is that my 6MT is very unique and the gearbox code F6T20 or F68203000 appears literally in just few places in Europe. Maybe 4 pcs from dismantled cars.
I am thinking about a swap with a gearbox F6W30 that looks identical to F6T20, but comes from year 2017, and at least in theory should be 5-speed, not 6-speed gearbox, while some sellers claim that F6W30 is a 6-speed one.
I know that engine 1.5 90HP is blocked on the ECU and can be converted into a 115HP, as there is no difference between these engines.
Maybe it is the same story with these 2 gearboxes? Maybe F6W30 in fact is a 6-speed one and it is just a matter of having a gear selector that allows to put the 6th gear in.
Thank you in advance for any hints!
Regards
