Default Mazda 2 Demio handbrake / parking brake adjustment ?

The handbrake / parking brake on my newly purchased Mazda 2 / Demio 2009 is slack. I have removed the console around the brake lever between the front seats but I cannot see any adjustment nut or mechanism. Can I / how can I tighten the handbrake / where is the adjuster (if any) please ?

Hi, you would be better off adjusting up the rear brakes, this would make your handbrake better.
Which model 2 is it? Is it a DE?

Hi Mazda Guru,

I am a newbie on Mazda's. The car is a late 2009 Mazda 2 TS2, 1.3 litre Petrol with a manual gearbox.

Thanks for the tip, I will adjusting the rear brakes. In Europe, I think they are drum brakes, rather than discs, on the rear.

I have been unable to get my hands on any workshop service manual. Any ideas where I might get a WS manual (for less than USD200) please ?
