My oldest step daughter just purchased a new 2012 Mazda 2!!! It's quite a remarkable car. I'm amazed at how much room is there given the size of the car. Unfortunately hers is an automatic (yes I know... BOOOOOO!!!). However, it is still a fun and spirited car to drive, and the styling is not bad either. Pics soon to come...

Your fam is really into this white thing, huh John?
Looks good... but as I suggested to a friend w/a green 2, look into some splash/mudflaps or you'll be finding chipped paint and road tar before ya' know it... unless they have gotten a lot better with their paint recently.

Well I may swayed her decision just a tiny bit... hehe, thanks for the heads up on the mudflaps. Besides they both look pretty good in our garage

just a follow up... even in an automatic this car is still fun to drive, I can only imagine how much more exhilarating it would be in a manual!! Now when I drive it, it is basically 95% highway 5% city so the auto trans is not too bad to deal with. But if it were my choice, I say go with the manual tranny and you will know what is meant by "zoom zoom"!!!

I haven't driven a 2 yet, but I can imagine whta the short, light chassis would feel like even at lower speeds. 'Bet it feels a lot faster than it is, and is more quick and nimble than most new cars on the road.
