Knocking noise on the steering
Hi all
My Mazda 2 2010 has had a knocking on the steering for almost a year now, it seems to be worse when steering to the right.
After a bit of research and looking at the car I think It the steering shaft causing the problem.
The part is really hard to get hold of but I have seen a few sources say that the ford fiesta steering shaft is compatible. Does anyone know if this is correct?
Has anyone had any experience with this problem and changing the steering shaft?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes, Ford Fiesta parts are cross compatible with Mazda 2 up to (I think) 2012.
https://partsouq.com is your friend when trying to find anything for this model, believe me. Either that or if you've still no luck, try and find a Fiesta with the same registration year and go from there.
Enjoy!
Edit: I got bored and did some further digging, there's a lot more choices for your year model than mine (2004 DY). Yours is a DE for sure but depends if it's a European or Chinese variant and if it's pre or post facelift. Driveshafts are very hit and miss when it comes to getting the right size so if all else fails, speak to Mazda and if they won't give you the part number, you can at least ask them (if you don't already know) which variant you have.
