Keyfob opens/locks doors but not start car
Hi Guys!
I have two Mazda 2 cars, a 2007 1.3 petrol, 2011 1.6 Diesel.
Had to change battery in both keyfobs in both car.
Keyfob buttons brilliantly opens/locks the doors as it should. But the flip keys not starting the cars anymore. Padlock symbol on dash flashing. When the batteries were dead both flip keys was starting our cars.
Both of our cars has spare keys, the regular key
without remote functions or buttons, those working fine.
I tried the: open door then 3x ignition, 3x door open/close…… method what i found here in the forum but no luck.
It seems the fobs and the cars are paired and at the same time they aren’t.
Any suggestions or solution please?
Thanks!

You could try taking the fobs to a Mazda dealer. They should be able to reprogram them for a small fee. You can also try forcing a relearn by turning the ignition to ON (not START) for 10 seconds and then OFF 30 times continuously—this may trigger the cars to re-recognize the fobs. Hopefully, one of those steps will take care of it!
