Car vibrating when slowing down in drive but not when in a lower gear

Car vibrating when slowing down in drive but not when in a lower gear
I have an automatic 2014 Mazda 2 neo
For a couple of months now it has been shaking when coming to a stoplight, breaking down a hill or just generally moving slowly to park. Today I realised it doesn't shake when I put it in a lower gear. At speeds approaching 120Kms (75Mps) and over the wheel starts to feel loose.
A mechanic didn't find anything, instead, they cleaned the dust off my breaks, but that didn't help. Rotors are about 6 months old.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem?
