Default Mazda 2 Takuya engine air filter

I have a 2010 Mazda 2 Takuya and am trying to figure out how to change the engine air filter. I can locate the 4 spring clips but it seems I also need to remove the electronics (ECU?) that are held in the air filter housing. These look as if they are protected with tamper proof bolts and the cables that go to the unit are underneath a metal cover so I can't even unplug the cables.
I have seen youtube videos but they do not have the same air filter housing that mine has.
Any ideas?

Pop the 4 clips, lift the lid up about a inch, slide you hand in and grab the filter. Not alot of room but that's the way its done. Filter only goes in one way round.
