Default Average MPG reading very slow to update

Hi,
we have a 2016 Mazda 2 and the Average MPG reading is very slow to update taking up to 30 seconds to go from one value to the next, even when running at a constant speed.
Has anyone come across this before, and do you know how to correct it?
Regards

You will need to go to Mazda and either get a ECU flash or install the last available ECU programing for your Mazda.

Or

Find an ASE service shop that has a Pass-Through specialized programing upload tool that if they have the subscribed programing file to re-flash your ECU.

I do not recommend the internet bad advice to disconnect the battery and or disconnect the battery and touch the cables together. Or to try to disconnect the battery thinking it will re-set the ECU or other computer storage electronics it won't really, and you could do more harm than good as they say.
