Antifreeze
So my engine coolant is getting low and have bought the xstream g30 antifreeze, before i go ahead and put it in is it going to be OK to do so? Not sure if it has to be a specific coolant or if most coolants these days are fine to put in. It's the 2018 model. Thanks in advance
If you drain it WELL - zero stress - do it - I did switch from green antifreeze to red one and zero problems after 5 years.
Additionally you can purchase coolant drain to help with rust drain before you flush it

ah thanks man I'll see if I can get someone to drain it as I am TERRIBLE with things like that haha cheers
You should ALWAYS refer to the manufactures direct website for information concerning any compatabilies of thier offered fluids.
I would also recommend that when asking questions in a mechanical sense to post the miles on the running gear and any service relating to the system that may have been done by the dealership or independent service shop.
he first questions I would be concerned with is why you are needing to add fluid on a 2018 Model Mazda???
Reports of longevity are often at the extreme range of the fluid service and are really not the best advice. Each fluid service specifically coolant should be checked no matter how old it is before adding more fluid. And as i said the reason for need to add to a completely closed system that should not loose coolant be looked into?
Coolant breaking down much faster than the advertised or manufacture service recommendations. Just remember when your new car warranty is up all the preventive maintenance you could have done to prevent problems may have been prevented.
On a 2018 Mazda there is more to the coolant service then a simple drain and refill which will not be the correct service way of the coolant system coolant replacement.

I got a free car check at halfords and they said my coolant needed a top up is the only reason i was asking as i was unsure if i could just add any coolant into whats already there, i am not good with cars as have only been driving a short while, so I'm a total newbie
For anyone that is squirming in their chair to respond to my suggestion.

In testing after I found it questionable for my reading I went to a dealership and randomly tested the % coolant/water on new vehicle's with less then 5-10 miles on the odometer. NONE registered 50/50 as per the auto manufacture of using their coolant premix. The tool I use is a Refractometer to measure the % of coolant to water.
If that were the case then water would be fine!

If you are wondering about this somewhere on my thread(???) I did the test a couple of times. I mix my ration for the Climent (proper way) I will be operating in and not the 50/50 that is in the cooling system from the auto manufactures.
