Hey everybody,

How should I go about chipping my Mazda 2, if possible.
How much will my performance increase by i.e 0-100kph
as well as my fuel consumption i.e l/100km.

Any advice or information will be greatly appreciated.

 

Don't bother chipping your Mazda2 unless it is a turbo-diesel (if such a thing exists), chipping a late model normally aspirated Mazda engine is pretty much worthless; Mazda did a good job at optimizing the engine.

 

I will defer to shipo. That was always my assumption.

The current generation of the Mazda 2 is a great car. Excellent handling, features and value when compared to everything else on the market (at least in the US where it is currently sold as the Toyota Yaris Sedan), in my opinion. I drove our rebadged 2016 Mazda 2 to work today. It has a lot going for it but sufficient power is not one of it attributes.

If you find a way to increase the power, post an update. I suspect it is as good as it is going to get.

 

You might get small power gains in a NA car by a decent air filter which is usually a risk free mod. I put BMC filters into my car (not the Mazda) and the butt dyno suggested a slight power gain though I did it more for getting blower noise. They are super fine, like silk compared to the cardboard-y stock filters.

 

Sorry, I got a good laugh from your post. Simple equation, reduce intake restriction, increase the amount of dirt into the engine. Even with no air filter at all, a Mazda2 motor wouldn't gain even an extra one horsepower.
