Hi guys! Just wondering about a front disc brake change on a 2015 DJ Genki - I did search to see if there was any other thread with the answer I’m after but couldn’t find one so apologise if there is

im just wondering if there’s anything special about the front disc brake change on this model of Mazda 2 or whether it’s like most disc brake changes with cap off the brake fluid, caliber removal, disc change and then retract the piston and put back together?

I know with some model Mazda’s you needed a special tool kit for retracting the piston but just wondering if there’s any other things about this particular model that needs to be considered during the process

 

Front brakes on a Mazda 2 is pretty simple & easy task. Take care, brakes are a critical safety item. If you aren't 100% confident & competent, leave it to the professionals.

 

Thanks for the word of warning! 🙂 definitely competent and able to do the job, I was more just wondering if the DJ Mazda 2 had any particular nuances for that model. Like for eg the 1996 astina requires an Allen key at the back of the calliper or 05+ Mazda 3 models require a particular piston tool but sounds like it’ll just be a straight forward change.
