I have a 2006 Mazda tribute i series and I noticed a broken hose clamped up near the engine, but it is not attached to anything on the other end. I would like to replace it but I can't find it where the bottom end attaches.
Unfortunately, the transmission breather(when I ordered that exact part from the dealer) was all metal. But I found this thread that was posted by someone about an 04 and it looked identical to that. So I think my hose prob goes down to the PCV valve which is also connected to the tranny breather. At least it gives me a starting point to look. The old thread says to change the PCV valve, would you recommend me doing that? I posted the old thread below. Thanks for your help!!
bottom part attaches to on the left side of the exhaust manifold but not to the exhaust manifold , on the back of the engine when you face to, front of the car. you should see a metal pipe is facing upward it is about 3-4 inches long and i would say an 8 thick. you can see it ,if you remove your air filter assembly and use flashlight look down there behind the engine next to exhaust manifold. this is on the driver side btw.
