Tribute Automatic Door Locks
Are my locks supposed to lock automatically when i put the car in gear or start going a certain speed? Or is there a way for me to program this?
I drive in traffic frequently and i feel much safer when my doors are locked, yea some say just lock them when you start off, well sometimes i just forget and i really want them to automatically lock.
Please help!

My Tribute DOES NOT do this either. In my experience, the only vehicles that automatically lock the doors when driving are GM vehicles. I could be wrong about this. You could call your Mazda dealer and ask this question. They should be able to provide you with a quick answer.
In terms of being safer, I am sure that it is the case in regards to reducing the chances of carjacking, for example. However, a locked car door is no safer than an unlocked door in the event of a crash.,

Yea, both of my other fords do this. One main reason i wanted the automatic locks is becuase, as you said, carjackings. Although a locked door wouldnt keep them out, it would however possibly provide time to drive away.
Thanks for your help! =D
