hi, im a new tribute owner 2001 2L- the engine does not run smoothly, and the engine turns off when idling, any one know the cause ?? also the remote does not work can i buy one from the dealer???

 

Is the check engine is lighted? Do you have any ODB readings?
I got rough idle, misfires on a 6cyl. 2001 with codes P0171 and P0174 "system too lean". Suppected vacuum leaks, then replaced upper and lower gasket manifold. Not easy to replace lower manifold gaskets. Problem is gone, engine runs like new.

The gasket kit is vailable through auto parts retailer for 10-12.00 for the kit.
