2005 Tribute V6 . Left rear spark plug blew out of cylinder, tore the coil pack off mount. I ran a thread chaser and seemed to hold when I tried to pull out. When I tried new spark plug would not thread in just turned..
Any suggestions

 

Take it to a engine builder for a 2nd opinion. May be able to fit a heli-coil.
Biggest problem is keeping crap from going into the cylinder while repairing it.

 

If you decide to use the heli-coil fix, which does work, use only hand tools and coat them with Vaseline. This will help catch the shavings produced from the repair. Do the re-taping in small increments and clean the tap off frequently adding more petroleum jelly as needed to the tool. Small shavings won't hurt anything and the petroleum jelly will burn off easy enough.
