Blew a hole thru EGR valve?
2004 Mazda Tribute- 6cyl-108K miles
Had all 6 coil packs replaced, alternator too, intake cleaned, and new battery 3 monthes ago due to bogging down of engine, poor gas mileage, couldnt hold idle at 1k, engine seemed to "loop", and engine running to rich.
Ran fine till yesterday.
On freeway passing a semi car decides to quit accelerating-70mph-60mh-50mph... While holding almost 3k rpms and no check engine light.
Hit emegency lane (truck driver honked) and turned car off. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes before restart. 20mph at 3k rpms is all it will do. Leaving freeway EGR blows a hole in its side and car behaves ALOT better. Still no check engine light.
I have exhaust flow, but I was thinking it might be catalytic converter.
Ideas as to what could blow EGR valve?

I had the same thing, the front catalytic converter dissengrated and plugged the muffler. remove the front o2 sensor and will run until you replace the muffler and converter, I cut mine out and installed a piece of pipe in place on the converter and cleaned the mullfer. good luck
