Default Some experiences about Tribute V6

I have a 2002 V6 Tribute, here are some experiences to share with you, comments are welcome:
1. Do check the two hoses underneath the radiator, those are the cooling hoses for your automatic transmission hydraulic oil. They are easily crack and leak oil. If it happens to you, do not try to drive, have it fixed before trying to drive again.
2. If you have misfire issue with any sparl plug, fix it immediately, otherwise you will destroy the catalytic converter.

3. When you replace the inner 3 spark plugs, or the inner ignition coils, check/clean or replace the PCV valve, have the PCV valve functioning well is very important. Also check all the vacuum tubes, replace if necessary. The EGR valve can also be cleaned at the same time.
4. Have the 3 inner ignition coils replaced at same time, if it is still functioning, move it to outside for easy replacement. Also have the 3 inner spark plugs replaced at same time, they are difficult to be replaced. When replacing these parts, be sure the upper and lower intake seals are intact, otherwise replace it.
5. Flush your cooling system every 3 years, with thermostat replaced. When you flush it, be sure to have the heating core flushed together.
6. I am using gas additive (red line si-1) every 5000km to avoid the injection valve clogged.
7. Do not forget to change the transfer case oil (70w-140) and the rear differential oil (80w-90), my recommendation is to change it every 50000km.
8. I change the transmission oil myself, and use only Micron V, I change it every 50000km.
9. You can clean the air condition blower by yourself, only 3 screws, under the glove box. After you clean the blower, clean the blower case together. You will have nice air blow out from the vent. Of course, have the cabin filter replaced every 6 months.

If you need the maintenance manual, I can share with you, it is for Tribute 2001 – 2007.
