Default Silver metallic finish rubbing off? Any one else?

I have seen this issue in other Tributes for sale online but I cannot find any threads addressing this issue in particular. I want to sell my 2005 Mazda Tribute and upgrade to a larger vehicle but the interior silver finish on the trim has rubbed off and rubs off very easily when wiping clean or even rubbed with your finger. If I were someone looking to buy this car, it would bother me. I thought about getting a trim kit but I havent found one that will cover the area that has worn off. Re-painting is an option if I can do it to where it looks good. Any one else had this issue? Were you able to and how did you resolve it? Please help. Driving me nuts I cant find anything on it!
