Default RPM drops slowly when clutch disengaged

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I'm glad I found it ! Lots of nice info here.

Here's my question : I bought a 2001 Tribute DX2.0L, manual transmission, with 130 000 km (approx 81 000 miles). When I accelerate, the engine seems to be hesitating at around 2,000 RPM, and then kicks a bit to go higher in revs. But my main problem is, when I disengage the clutch, the RPM goes down really slowly, even sometimes it goesa bitup (and I'm not touching gas pedal)before going back down. With this, shifting trhough gear is a bit weird also because of RPM not going down fast enough. So, I was wondering what could be the cause of this, or what should I look for.

Any help would be really appreciated ! Thanks !
