Test drove it, and the sounds hasn't changed much again, so I have to move on to fixing the all-wheel-drive transfer case. Does anyone have any tips or advice for this job? Can I just rebuild it with a kit from somewhere?

My transfer case is making a grinding noise too, so I am after the same information. I was told that it was definitely the bearing, so £120 to fit a new bearing and there is still a noise.

Jacked all four wheel up this morning and got underneath with a stethoscope. Definitely the transfer box.

Any advice??

Did you ever have this issue figured out ?
I wonder if the proble was the carried bearing on the passenger side half shaft.
Let us know the outcome.
Thank you.
