Default Problems With My 2001 Tribute - Please Help!!!

Can any one please help me???
All your feedback/advice will be greatly appreciated..
I recently purchased a 2001 mazda tribute 3.0 V6
it has 90,000 km on the clock and at first seemed to run like a dream..
i have sunk nearly every cent into buying this car and am now very upset to find it has started having the following problems:
1). When cruising at around 70-80 kph occasionally the car gives a grinding and shuddering feeling, the car slows slightly as if it is meeting some resistance, then there's a slight clunk and it fixes itself and continues normally.
2). 48hrs after buying the car the "engine system failure" light came on the dash, two days later it disappeared and hasn't come on since.. fingers crossed.
3). When driving, generally just when coasting or cruising at constant speeds the "ignition failure" light (the one that looks like a battery) flickers on and off, sometimes staying on for a couple of minutes.
4). Finally, when driving today, cruising at 80kph the engine started pulsating, the revs dropped then raised then dropped then raised again.. as if i was pumping the accelerator on and off..

Please help.. all advice is greatly appreciated...

You might want to have both your battery and your alternator checked out....at least for #3 & 4 above.

The "Grinding and shuddering" is very common in my car at the same speed - usually when going up a hill (?downshifting gears). This occurred early on & I was told that "MDS Computer Updates" would fix it - they didn't.
Just this week, I have had failure of the automatic tramsmission - quoted $4,800 to fix!! The symptoms of this were similar to your 4th comment. We have had no fluid leaks either. I would suggest an urgent check of your tramsmission.
