Default 2001 Mazda Tribute DX A/C problem please help!

I'll probably end up having to take this to a professional but so far I've called a couple auto body shops and none have known what to tell me so I figured I'd post here. I just bought a used 2001 mazda tribute dx. Before I bought it the guy said he had to get the a/c fixed so he took it to a shop where the mechanic said that there was a leaking line so he replaced all the rings and it was good to go. The guy sold me the car and the a/c seemed to work great as I was going home and going around town that day at slow speeds. However, when I got onto the highway or went above 45 mph for more than 5 minutes the a/c quickly disappeared until it was non existent. Once again, I came to a red light and when the vehicle was stopped after about a minute the A/c was ice cold again but the second I was above 45 mph for a couple minutes it quickly disappeared. Any idea what could be wrong? Please let me know! all suggestions and ideas are welcome

Does anything else fail along with the a/c under the conditions you describe? Headlights / dash panel dim on you, windows are sluggish going up and down, radio failing etc. I had an alternator that was overcharging the battery and causing electrical problems such as this until it would "cool down", only to return again.

Default same happens to our tribute

Hi,

Funny you describe our problem. At low speeds, it take s awhile, but the a/c works....when you go highway speeds, it does not.

I;ve thought about recharging it with a kit, however I cannot locate the low pressure service port to connect the gas to....any ideas where the ports are located? Which is high and which is low?
