Default Passing gear not disengaging

Ok, so when I accelerate normally, (not flooring it) my tranny works through all the gears properly. However, it seems that when at 0mph, if i put the pedal all the way to the floor, it never shifts down. instead, it just continues to shoot up rpm's and i have to let off the gas just a slight bit in order to get it to shift and lower my rpm's....

any ideas on this one? Is it something that can be adjusted? I just had a rear exhaust manifold replaced (right slide, connects to the cat). would that of done something?

MAF sensor or o2 sensors???? Thanks in advance.....

turns out my 3rd cat converter was clogged.... hence the loss of power and inability of the tranny to shift gears... lame.

In response to krazyks post.... I am having a similar problem on my 2001 ES V-6. Is anyone else having this problem that may have other possible solutions? BTW this is an excellent forum.

Update: turns out my 3rd catalytic converter was clogged. This was radically reducing my trucks power and i wasn't able to get it up enough for the tranny to switch gears. i would check your cats.
