Awkward but you should be able to unclip/unscrew the door interior trim fastners and lever the trim away from the door far enough at the lock end to work the control rods by hand.

If the actual problem is the door isn't unlocking then make sure you have pulled the interior release several times as that <may> unlock it and open it, depends if it deadlocks or not.

i have pried the inner panel back a little and can see the actuator. There is no rod on this door. just a cable that goes from locking lever to actuator. i have removed that from button and can move cable in and out, but door still act as if locked. the only rod in this door is the rod for the outer handle. i have tried moving that up and down many times, but still have a door that wont open. arg!

Sounds like the lock itself is seized, pulling on the cable or moving the rob should open it, for both to fail that would tell me it has failed inside the lock itself...

I’ve been having the same problem, if it’s seized how do you Unseize it as the door is jammed shut and unable to unscrew the actual door locking mechanism
