Default need help please

i have a 2001 mazda tribute lx-v6 its currently leaking water i have located the leak but do not know what the parts is the part in question is on the lower half of the engine its a black box with 2 water lines that go in or 1 that goes in and 1 out and the oil filter screws onto that anyone know what the part is called so i can order it thanks

I am not specifically familiar with that engine, but it sounds to me like an oil cooler. It uses the engine coolant to maintain steady oil temperature at the filter.
If it's got a leak and it is engine coolant (anti-freeze,) why not just temporarily disconnect it by connecting the two hoses together until you can locate and replace the part?

thats the same thing i thought sir i want to do that just wanted to make sure what it was before i disconnect it
