Default Need help with an Electrical Problem

Car has a new battery, replaced yesterday. Problem began yesterday before new battery. ABS light comes on while car is in motion. Windshield wipers slow down, radio dies, engine begins to miss fire - Acts like battery is rapidly losing power. Appears to be a huge battery drain. Also, sounds like brakes are being applied without pressing brake pedal. Anyone have any ideas? Car is inoperable at this point.

Check your body ground connections and check the alternator output.
If you can, add another ground from engine block to negative terminal on battery as well.
It's the ABS light that is weird although obviously voltage is lower. The computer may also control the voltage.

Sounds like an alternator problem. That's the first thing that jumps out at me. With a little luck it might just be a bad ground like Nog mentioned . Let us know what you find out.
As a side note if you have questions in the future please include the year of your truck and the engine size. Makes it easier for the folks here help solve your problem...Welcome to the forum.....Bob

Default The problem was the alternator

I decided the problem was probably the alternator. On 2002 Mazda Tribute ES w/3.0L V6, it is a major job to remove the alternator. It was worth the $800 to get the job done.

Common problem on the Tribute/escapes is for the main power cable terminal to corrode where it bolts onto the alternator.
