Default Fuel filter

Anyone know where the fuel filter for a 2005 Tribute I-4 is located on the vehicle?

Default RE: Fuel filter

Fuel filter is located toward the back, underside of vehicle on left side, just in front of the fuel tank. Release couplings are a little odd so be carefull when removing so as not to break them. See pics below for more on this.

Push inward on these two white tabs

Now pull the White locking clip away from the pipe as shown and remove pipe from filter.

This just shows going back together. Could not find any pics of the clip on other line but is very similar.

Thanks babyhuey. Sorry it took so long to reply. Is the fuel system pressurized and if it is how do you relieve the pressure to replace the filter? Thanks again.

Yes it is pressurized. Easiest way to depressurize is to remove the 20 Amp "Fuel pump" fuse in the underhood fuse/relay box, start the engine and let it run untill stalls. System will have a small amount of pressure left but very little.
See diagram below for fuse box location. Fuse should be labled #6 on the underside of the cover. If not then just take a look at the fuse box with cover removed. At the very front of thebox you will see two rows of four blade type fuses. First row from outside to inside should be 25A, 25A, 25A, 5A. Right behind that row are two fuses 15A and 20A, then two diodes to complete the row on the inside. Fuel pump fuse is the 20 Amp in that row.
