ac won't shut off, 2005

Just picked up a tribute last night. Nice truck! Whenever the climate control is on, the ac is on. The only way to turn it off is to hold the button down. Where should I start troubleshooting?

right there. check continuity of the button. then check the ac compressor relay.

Okay, well, what do I do if I dont have a multimeter..? Would an auto parts store do it? Advance or AutoZone?

buy a cheap one form sears, or radio shack. sears have a digital voltmeter for about $25

Until I have the tools, I pulled the ac switch/compressor fuse. Light still comes on but ac doesn't engage. Well work for the time being seeing as it's winter.
