I'm trying to figure out what wire gives 12 volts when the key is in the accessories position. Going by the after market connector (from Red Wolf) the red 'accessory' wire goes to a purple wire (I think). Anyway whatever wire it is connected to only has 1 volt so it wont signal my aftermarket system to turn on.
Am I missing something? Do I need a CAN bus interface?

When you unplug the connector, you have access to the contacts right?
Get a multimeter, set to DC 20V, black lead to some bare metal somewhere, and the red one to test each contact.
