Default 2003 Mazda Tribute Antenna

Hi there,

It's my first post and my question is a bit specific, but any help is greatly appreciated. I still have the factory radio installed in my car, and I have an appointment for tomorrow (Sept. 8, 2009) to get my new Pioneer Avic F700BT installed. My question is in regards to the antenna. There is an antenna slot in the back of the head unit. Will the existing antenna plug in the factory radio, the one used for AM-FM radio.. Will that plug fit into the slot on the Pioneer unit, or will I have to buy an adapter. Thanks for the help.

This doesn't answer your question directly, but I have an 01 Tribute and had a Pioneer stereo installed - no adapter required. I guess you'll find out for sure at your appt if you haven't already!

I also had a Pioneer installed. No mention of any adaptor needed.
