I was told my IAC valve was bad or needed cleaning by the dealership recently. Had the same symptoms plus it would stall during ignition as well. Instead of paying the shop the $350+ that they quoted me I found this forum. Thanks babyhuey - big help!

 

Happy to report that the Tribute has not stalled since I installed the new IAC valve back a few months ago. So far so good!

 

Baby Huey I just bought the Air Intake Control Valve for my 2003 Mazda Tribute 2.0 engine. Can you please send me a link to a diagram that shows me where this part goes. The guy at parts store couldn't figure it out. I bought the part.

 

I have a 2003 Mazda Tribute and have owned it going on 11 years. Only one problem but got that fixed and it runs great and has 147,000 miles. Now my engine light is on, but it runs great. Any ideas why the light is on?
