Default 2003 Mazda Tribute fog lamp

Thanks to a dump trunk tossing a stone, the driver's side lens cover for my fog lamp is now shattered. Can I just replace the lens cover or do I need to replace the entire fog lamp assembly? Not being a mechanic, I need to know if I can do this myself and if so, how? I've looked and can not see how to remove either the remains of the lens cover or the fog lamp assembly. The fog lamp still works, it's just the lens cover that is broken. Thank you in advance for your advice.

The whole unit needs to be replaced. There is no protective lens. I got mine off of ebay.
The unit is replaceable from the back side of the bumper. You need to remove some shroud screws to access the 3 or 4 screws holding the fog lamp in place in the bumper. No fancy tools, just a phillips head and maybe a small socket.
