hoping someone can help me. My 08 V6 fwd automatic transmission tribute with 150k Km on it recently lost reverse gear but only when the car has heated up 5-10 mins or so. When cool I can put it in reverse, feel it bite and back up with no issues. But when warm it just revs in reverse and I can feel it trying to bite. I drained 4 liters of tranny oil from the bottom and topped up again with Mercon V but that was 1000km ago and hasn't fixed the issue. Strange thing is it happened very suddenly. There was a couple of days bad snow early last month and the traction control was working very hard on my 30 min commute to and from work. When I got home I couldn't back up into the driveway. Could be just a coincidence. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thanks

 

Either your reverse clutch pack is worn out, or the seals for the solenoid / valve body are worn & allowing ATF pressure to leak past when everything warms up.

I'm my no means a transmission specialist, but, basically your transmission needs a overhaul or replacement.
