'03 ES Starting issues (back again!)
Okay! I have a 2003 Tribute ES (V6)I came to this board back in December with starting issues, was told it was probably the IAC valve... I replaced it in January and all was well, until a few days ago. It's been overwhelmingly hot out here; I headed out to a docs appt. at 9:30am, was there for 2 hours, came out and the car wouldn't start, by then it was about 97 degrees. Plenty of electricity, it would turn over and over and over, but the fuel wouldn't catch, just peter out. I waited for another hour before calling AAA and had it towed home. Still wouldn't start when it got home, but it did the next morning
.
I haven't popped the hood yet or looked at the IAC valve, but could it already be going bad or sticking only 8 months later???? So frustrated at this point and I really don't want to have to take this thing into the dealer or local mechanic, don't really have the funds for that right now and they are never that helpful anyway.
Any additional thoughts?
THANKS in advance all.

This was part of the problem last time this happened. When we took it to the local mechanics, they could not get any error codes on it; therefore couldn't diagnose the problem. Of course, it was not doing it when they had it.
Iv had starting issues with mine too, an 03 as well. Its had the fuel pump repalced and been to the dealer 4 times ot be "fixed" and they cant find anythign wrong. So jsut FYI its probably not your fuel pump, but i could be wrong.
Did you ever resolve this problem? I have been chasing the same issue on my 2001 V6 for months. Sometimes it starts first try other times you can crank it half a dozen times before it fires. Once started it runs great. Have been to 3 dealers and two independents. No codes and no pending codes.
