01 Mazda Tribute issues
I owned my 01 Tribute since 155k and is now at 175k. I am still very new to car maintenance any help would be appreciated! I would like to know what should I do for these two issues:
I had a misfire which then triggered the engine light. I went to mechanic for OBD scan and the code said it was a bad spark plug. Owners manual says to replace spark plugs at 160k so they are due for replacement. I understand that the code might not just mean replace spark plugs but other things as well after proper inspection. The labor cost would be quite expensive since the intake manifold needs to be removed.
Is it ok to just replace spark plugs?
Should I go through proper inspection?
Should I do a tuneup and if yes what parts should I replace?
Coolant light
My coolant light comes on usually after the car gets to normal operating temperature. Usually 10-15min from cold start. The light then stays on for the remainder of the trip. My coolant is at the right level and the temperature gauge is in normal temperature while coolant light is on.
Is this a sensor problem?
Also, how important is replacing the PCV valve? Owner's manual says at 160k. It looks like there will be more labor than replacing spark plugs.
I didn't get an oil change for 20k how bad is this? lol
Please help and thank you!

imo , change the plugs and fit new coil on plugs , there are "kits" on the bay that supply coils and plugs at a fair cost , i got the red coils and plugs separately from different sellers and no troubles so far , those same COP coils are across many types of vehicles around the world .
Then whilst your their replace the pvc valve as its important , one can get at it with the top half off it's still a bit fiddly though , and then clean the air valve/venturi and maf sensor and refit the top half of the intake manifold rubber gaskets with new ones , they are cheap enough , check air filter and replace the fuel filter .
Look about on the net for the instructions , don't bother asking "how do i do" from me , just do it .
The coolant thing is the actual sensor , it can be replaced individually or a new bottle , one has to remove the bottle from the vehicle or if it annoys you just remove the electrical plug = no light at all .
buy a cheap OBD scanner , price of a hamburger ! .......
